I went to go buy a tractor today and when the owner drove it around, it would not shift into 2nd or 3rd gear. It would go into 1st, 4th, 5th, and reverse, but not 2nd or 3rd.
I didn’t buy the tractor, but I came to an agreement that I would buy the tractor if he can get it to shift into 2nd and 3rd. What’s the most likely cause of this issue and is it something that I should be concerned about even after he can get it shifting property?
My other option is to buy another Farmall H for the same price that will shift into all gears, but that one doesn’t have as nice of tires and it has a lot of rust, so much so that I’m worried the rims are about rusted through.
