Read the message below regarding tire shops ripping off people for simple changeovers. Look at it this way. Check out what a local automotive repair shop charges per hour for their mechanic to do work on your car or truck. This is a licenced mechanic with a lot of his own hand tools and access to a lot of hi-tech tools and analysis equipment probably owned by the shop. Then, phone a tire shop and get a price to changeover two small rear tractor tires like the one's in Amateur Mechanic's posting below. You've got an employee who is most likely not school trained nor does he hold a ticket for any trade. Sure, they've got a machine there that pretty much does the work for them and it's expensive but after all they're in the business. Figure out how much time it takes them to do the changeover (no fluid) and then figure out how much they're charging you per hour. Guaranteed it will be twice as much as the repair shop with a licensed mechanic. I agree with the post, they totally rip a guy off. Same for tire changeovers on you car or truck. Wheel balancing is outrageous, plus they have the gall to charge a guy extra after buying four new tires (which is done by most shops). I think the whole thing is a huge racket but there's not too much that most of us can do about it.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
