Is it not owning one product of another brand? Having a certain percentage of a given brand on your farm? Is it owning what are the classic models of a given brand and nothing else? I have a fleet of mostly JD and IH products and a sprinkling of other brands (mostly Oliver-White). I'll have to do a tally just to know exactly but I would say that I am just about evenly split in terms of IH and JD in terms of machine units. In terms of dollar value I am definitely JD heavy. I dream of adding tractors for collecting purposes of all the domestic brands. Some more than others. I remember belonging to a tractor club years ago and being asked if I disliked IH products. I could not understand how somebody reached that conclusion. There has been at least 2 IH tractors here for quite a long time. Quite a number of IH implements of which quite a few are still here and some that have moved on. And the people asking often did not have anymore IH tractors than what I had and no implements in some cases. It does not bother me but just makes me curious as to how people think about things.

After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
