Okay people get out the magic potions and all the magic formula/tricks to maybe help me with this one. I inherited an Earthmaster tractor from a good friend that passed away. Before you start snickering and condemning it, I know this is an insignificant tractor compared to what most of you guys have and use. That is beside the point here, to each his own and this one is important to me for several reasons, but mostly because of who it came from. The tractor was running good before my friend came down with ALS, (AKA Lou Gherig's disease)and eventually died which meant the tractor has not ran since about 2008. Engine had been rebuilt before he got sick and was in good running condition at that time. Since then it had sat with the exhaust covered until I was notified to come and get it last month. The engine was not stuck but I did pour about 1/2 cup of diesel fuel with ATF and a little acetone mix into each spark plug hole and let it sit for a few days before turning it over with the starter and blowing most of the mix out of the cylinders. I polished the points, cleaned the carburetor and got it cranked and after burning the diesel/ATF mix out it ran good for the next couple of hours, oil pressure is good also. but it will give off a little blue haze when running. I checked the compression after running it for 2 hours and the front cylinder has 95# compression and the rear has that also. Cyl # 2 has 90# and cyl # 3 has 87#. I am wondering if possibly the oil rings are stuck in a couple of the cylinders maybe? I added some Sea Foam to the gallon tank of gas I ran through it this afternoon and with it running about 2,000 RPM's I misted a pint of water through the carburetor to help clean out the carbon deposits maybe. After this it ran much better but still does smoke a little blue haze, just less than it did before. I drained the old oil out today after it got hot and all circulated. Any thoughts or ideas on this one?

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
