Will wrong thermostat cause problem?

My John Deere dealer sold me a 160 degree thermostat for my JD1020. After getting the tractor reassembled, I saw in the service manual that the correct thermostat should be 180 degree unit. I don't think this will cause a problem, but wanted a second opinion.
