Advice on farm tractor implements

We want to start raising some crops on some land we just purchased. Probably won't till more than an acre or two and i plan to use a JD 1010 35 hp tractor with 3 pt. hitch. I heard a tiller is a good attachment but the land I will be initially using hsn't seen a plow in it for 15 - 20 years so I fear many roots from the small trees (mostly locust)would be too much for a tiller. So woould I get a plow, disc, cultivator or some implement that combines some of these features? Also, for this tractor what size plow, and for a used one what kind of price should I expect to pay? I am not sure what we will plant, it may even be just some corn and maybe wild flowers initially. I'd appreciate any advice. thanks
