8n ford wont start

47 8n with front dist. will start if pulled but not with starter. the engine is completely overhauled new starter, points and condenser. timing ok and getting fuel. Everything seems to be ok , what am I missing?? Help !!! The engine would start before overhaul if cranked enough.Thanks for any help.
