Boots in tires......How bad a tire is fixable????

Hi again. Wondering about a way to cheaply repair the bad 8.50 X 32 tire on my 2N. It has one spot where you can touch the tube, in a split area about two inces square, between two lugs. Being the penny pincher that i am, I was wondering if there are any old time tricks to repair this to a useable condition.. I plan on using a back blade with the tractor..
Should I try a tire liner from Gemplers, or do I need to bite the bullet and pay 200.oo plus far a new tire??? Actually i wouldnt mind a good used tire either, but it seems the 32 inchers are not too plentiful.. Thanks!
