Anytime you try to jumpstart another vehicle or tractor, BE SURE that you connect positive to positive and negative to negative. Connecting the positive cable to the tractor's frame and touching the negative cable to the starter would be okay. The fact that you got a spark but nothing happened may mean that you did not get a good connection. When you hooked the cable to the tractor frame; paint, rust or whatever, could have caused a bad connection. A word of caution. It is possible to blow up a battery when using jumper cables. Flying acid can burn or blind you. Hooking a 12 volt battery to a 6 volt one can cause the 6 volt one to blow up. REMEMBER, POSITIVE TO POSITIVE, NEGATIVE TO NEGATIVE. AND BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
