Hi A few months ago I asked this forum for advise on a generator that was not charging. I got some post that advised me to ditch the generator and change over to an alternator. Well I finally made the change and got a G.M. 3 wire alternator. I made a bracket and got it installed but I am a little confused about the wiring. I got the 2 wire connector for this alternator and ran the red wire to the bat. on the alternator. I am not sure what to do with the white wire. I started the engine and with an amp. meter in line with the bat. wire coming from the alternator to the + side of the starter I am getting a positive charge without the white wire hooked up to anything. My question is do I have to connect the white wire and if so where? Thanks for any help Roy
