Some synthetic oil mfgrs say they will back up the warranty if the engine is damaged, but I've never heard of this senario happening. I have a 1952 H. Ferguson TO30 that Dad bought new. We have installed mfgr recommended non-detergent 20 or 30 weight oils each spring and fall. The engine has never been apart, used no oil, has good compression and pulls as good as I remember when it was new. I can't think of a reason to spend 5X the money to attain the same or questionably better results.
