Your tractor was built to make do with what the cheapestlube oil was available at the time. Depression raised farmers are/were noted for being penny wise & pound foolish. New engines which run hotter, with turbo's or starting in cold weather all benefit from a quality synthetic oil such as Mobil 1 or Amsoil. How far would a new highway diesel tractor or new Vortec pickup get on non detergent oil?

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
