Did Shep ever mention cutting trusses? looks like the bank is as much at fault as the owner... since when does a bank DEFER to the builder? Something smells a lot like fish to me on the deal.
Sounds more to me like the builder is caught between the home owner (who evidently didn't see that his plans had been spec'd out to meet code) and a woefully inept lender.

Hey Shep... could you do a better job of explaining what happen with the code screw up?
That is where the blame should start then let the %^$& run down hill from there.

Were the trusses approved in permit review? Did the builder install incorrect trusses that were approved by the county? You need to be a whole lot clearer on what happened between you, the builder, the county, and the lender before any CURE can come to your project.

I was surprised that a professional constuction claims consultant was so ready to blame the builder without presenting the qustions that are glaringly obvious to another professional. Very suspect to me. Look deeper.
