I have a ford diesel 144 c.i. This tractor smokes when running, sometimes worse than others but I'm not sure that it is oil smoke. The exhaust is awfully rich smelling and it doesn't seem to be using oil. The smoke is whiteish/gray. I have run a can of seafoam and also a few treatments of power service fuel additive to try to clean the injectors in case if they are dirtyand sticking open. One thing that I have noticed is that the temp never gets up much above the low side on the gauge, could it be too rich from not getting up to temp? I just don't want to accept that it is wore out and needs rebuilt. any help would be appreciated. By the way, this tractor set for a long time without running until I just purchased it recently, I drained the fuel tank and put in a new fuel filter also. Also when I'm running it at night every once in a while sparks float out of the exhaust pipe under a load. Any ideas?
