Sounds like you have the right ideal. For graining a steer 20 X 20 will do. It would be better it you had two critters. They would compete and therefore grain faster. You could sell the 2nd to help cover the cost. Feed should consist of 2.5 lbs per hundren weight to give you an ideal. Lots of fresh water and keeping the criter out of the wind helps the rate of gain. Watch in feeding grain. It too much (where they don't eat all thats fed them will couse them to go off feed. Better to increase the feed (grain) until they eat it all but seem to want a little more. Feed as much hay as they will eat. It wont cause them to go off feed.
