IH 140 STEERING AND HYDRAULICS

Two questions folks....anyone know if the steering box on an IH 140 can be adjusted to remove play?? (either by shiming the gears or an adjuster if there is one)...second question...the hydraulic valve (the one that controls the secondary piston) on the left side of our tractor is jammed..(we suspect that it's because the tractor was used only for mowing and used only the right hand valve)...is there a way to free the stuck valve ...short of rebuilding the whole valve body??? Any input greatly appreciated.
