help- long story short- I built a loader for my bolens lawn tractor. The Barnes pump is run off the front PTO so i fabricated a plate to hold it in place and have a 1/2 inch lovejoy coupler then the spider then the 2nd lovejoy is attached to the 15spline pto shaft. Problem is I keep wearing out the spiders and then the couplers eventually smash together. you get the picture. I certain this is caused because the pto is only activted when i flip the switch. Logic says to keep the pto switch on at all time but that seems to kill the machine a lower rpm. Are their any other options to attach the pto to the pump? Would a differnt pump help if I opt to keep the PTO on always?? Lastly should there be any wiggle room between the PTO and the pump??meaning the coupler should not be able to move at all?? much appreciate any help/. thanks
