Planting Crops

Hi All,

I was reading that notill crops work well in some areas. From my understanding, notill came about cause you couldn't get into a field to plow because it was to wet in the spring?

If thats correct then why couldn't you plant in the fall and let the seed winter and get the benefit of the spring moister content?

If you don't disc, do you do any soil prep before planting with the notill method? How about crops yields? Is there a difference from full soil prep to the notill method?

As you can see I have no idea what I'm talking about, just learn'n :)
