GEO, It is a front mounted Cessna, (22.5 gpm @ 1800 rpm) pump & the gage reads 1450 psi before the relief valve kicks in. This is just what the book says is the right relief pressure. Could the pump still be operating the backhoe & loader so strongly if the gears were worn to the point that oil by-passes & blows the seal? How can I test the pump?...or is what you already told me "the test"? If I install a gage on the pressure line coming directly from the pump, you think it should read about 2000 psi?...or more? If reading is less than 2000 psi, directly off the pump, would you think the pump is shot? Thanks for you advise. Mike
