Opinions and intended usage play a major role here. Personally I'm looking for a deck over to avoid loosing space/ not being able to drive between wheel wells. Max legal 102" wide to limit rear tractor wheel overhang. Stake pockets for racks if cattle etc are ever hauled. Long enough to load a tractor and implement or two tractor nose to nose. Double 7000+lb axles rather than triple to limit stress/ ease turning. Electric brakes on both axles with a proportional controller for simplicity. I’m partial to a plank deck as it’s quieter and provides a wee bit of cushion/spring. I'm stuck with a pintle hitch to get over the 10,000lb 2-5/16" as the truck has a cap preventing 5th wheel usage. The trailer can also be tractor towed with the pintle hitch without using a 5th wheel adaptor off the three point hitch.
