I have an old Jacobson tractor which has been operating well over the last several years. This week I was using it for the first time this year. Although I got it started fairly easily the electric clutch would not activate. I shut down and checked to make sure everything was free. I started up and the clutch engaged. After several minutes of cutting I noticed significant smoke coming fron under the engine compartment. After shutting down I checked the engine compartment and found almost all of the wiring insulation entirely burn from the wires. Is there anything that I should look for or just assume that it was the result of a direct short to ground? Where can I can get a replacement wiring harness, ignition switch, and clutch switch? Should I take any speccial precautions in rewiring?
