Discharging generator

Hi,

I have a 1948 Farmall H with 6v pos. ground and magneto. When I turn the light switch to H,D or B I get full discharge with the tractor running. If I hook up a jumper wire to the F terminal on the regulator and to a ground I get +/- 15 amp charge.

I have tried polarizing the regulator numerous times with no change. I have also hooked a ground directly to switch and this makes it worse.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this and how I can fix it?
