John, I really shouldn't wash my dirty laundry in public, but let me reaffirm what you've just said in this way. As I've already stated here before, I've already been on both sides of this aisle. I was one he!! of a farmer, even if I do say so myself, but I went so broke that it made my ears bleed and it ceaselessly curled my toenails. And, it happened just like you described in your post; there just was no room for profit in the farming business at that place and at that time. I was pushing 7 farms and just could not make it work even though I tried every variation of the craft & with every bit of creativity that I could come up with. Subsequently, I've gotten into another endeavor, which has been very lucrative. Too dam~ed lucrative, in fact. I've got to find a way to "drain off" some of this income and to off-set my federal paperwork. I’ve just got to get this thing ‘balanced’ out ‘cause I feel I am solely supporting the national debt every time I pay my taxes. That's why my wife and I are buying another farm and another full yard of equipment. I know darned well I can show a loss in this manner, 'cause I've been there and I’ve done that! Allan

In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
