This fall, I drove over a bridge that had been downgraded from 45 ton to 8 ton, with a semi weighing 74000 lbs. While it did no apparent damage to the bridge, it sure did put a dent in the wallet. One of Michigan"s finest followed me 8 miles before I crossed the bridge, and instead of warning me before hand, (not surprising) waited until I went over the bridge and then stopped me and issued a ticket. It ended up being a $5,400 bridge toll. I may have gotten off cheap after reading this story. Wow.
