Terry, My dad & brothers have 2 40-06's from about 20-25 yrs ago. Still running. 40hp. Make great chore tractors. Have a bucket on the front of each. Pretty light tractors. Engines are very good. The air cooled engines were in Rommels tanks in North Africa. Haven't really had much trouble with them. Starts pretty easy. Be careful with ether when starting cause the head bolts stretch easier than American tractors. Not sure about parts but they are in cahoots with Allis. Duetz/Allis. They put their first Dealership 1 mile from our farm(near Moline Ill) in the 70's to take on JD/IH/Case & lost. We also had an 80-06 & 100-06. (80 & 100 HP). The clutches kept going out in the heavy Iowa soil & you have to split the tractor to fix. Dad switched back to Case/JD after that. The 80-06 is a great chore tractor now. Sold the 100-06. Hope this helps some, Steve
