A 4440 is FAR FROM being "Just a souped up 4430" It has a MUCH heavier hydraulic system, better transmission/rear end componentry, and a 466 Cu In engine vs. the 404 of the 4430. They're as different as night and day. Been around BOTH for much of my life, and there's no comparison. The 4440 won't handle a big loaded grain cart, but it WILL handle what it was designed to handle. I didn't say the 4440 would handle the load of a 4840 or something bigger. What I did say was the 4440 was/is the best tractor Deere ever made. And I'll stick to that claim.
