I have a M600 also, there should be very little play in the drive belt. Sounds to me that your belt is worn out or the wrong size.....Since you have a manual check it about the adjustment to the virable speed valve. It has a fair amount of text concerning the need to adjust the valve. It take more force to turn the machine than to drive it just straight forward and back......I would start there...I found a great source of used parts.... Buddys bobcat service...contact Buddy by fax at 800-340-2101. next to impossible to reach him by phone, but he responds to faxes within a day. Great guy to work with...I have bought many new and used parts for my 600 from him and have been very pleased with every part. and he really knows his stuff......good luck and let me know if I can help you... Bruce
