I changed the drive belt and that was the problem. The variable speed pulley was frozen and took some time to work loose. Putting the belt on is a major ordeal! I finally got the belt on and did a quick test for motion- turned fine. I am still unable to get the outer half of the variable drive pulley back on. The new belt is stiff and I was not able to get the pulley"s compressed enough to get the snap ring on. Will work more on it today. Is there a trick to this? My manual does not go in to detail on "how to". I have the piston to the variable drive pulled all the way out and am still about 3/4" from getting the ring on. Hey, what do I expect when I only paid $1500.

I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
