I would suggest you go to your neighbors, let them know what is going on with their cats. I would not use the antifreeze method. This is very cruel to the animal, and I see you show some compassion to the cats by not taking them to the pound. If you could see a cat curled up on a rug in front of a wood stove on a freezing night maybe you would change your mind about cats.I wish I had a better answer. Stan
