I am in the process of painting a VAC Case. Last weekend, I painted the frame of the tractor. I used Dupont paint at the suggestion of a friend. The paint came out with a gritty feeling to it and a lot less gloss than my SC that was painted with Van Sickle paint. I thought of these possibilites for the poor finish: 1. I painted outdoors for better light, and it was 80 degrees plus with a slight breeze. With the hardener in it, I wonder if it dried too quick. 2. Could it be I didn't get enough paint on? 3. Can too much air and not enough paint mixture effect this? I plan to wet sand it and try another coat. Is this the best method to correct this problem? Thanks for the tips.
