I've had my ear to the ground on new pickups for awhile now, and from what I've gathered recently as far as diesels go, Dodge seems to be best. GM has had alot of problems with their trucks, I've heard everything from the seats leaching dies on your clothing at 15,000 miles, to the fuel injecters and injecter pumps failing prematurely. Now that the Duramax has been out for awhile and people are starting to get higher miles on them, I'm hearing more complaints. The Ford 6.0L diesel is fairly good, but my biggest complaint is they are by far the noisiest. Now Dodge comes with a Cummins, and the High Output one makes 325HP, and 610lbft of torque. I know it isn't as much as the competiton for horsepower, but it's enough and with aftermarket parts, you can get more out of it if you wanted. The Cummins is an inline 6 instead of a V8 design like GM and Ford, and is classed a medium duty engine, V.s GM and Ford are classed as light duty. I picked up a truck magazine and read about Dodge doing alittle publicity stunt hooking a big Cat mining truck to a Diesel 3500 and pulled it around, that was 153,000lbs or somesuch. The newer Cummins has common rail injection and doesn't make much more noise than a gasser, and they are powerful.

All these conditions can be signals that your unit is in need of a tune up. Ok, so what is involved in a tune up? You say, swap plugs and file the points....now tha
