Make sure clutch pedal travel is adjusted properly. Measure from pedal to level foot rest. Should be 9-1/4" for early models (two holes in clutch shaft arms where clevis attaches), and 8-1/2" for late models (one hole). Adjust with clevis. Then adjust free travel using stop screw on clutch shaft arm. If you still have problems, you'll have to split the tractor and take a look at the clutch. Do it soon before you tear up the tranny!
