Well, the clutch pedal free travel was awful close. And it is not low on Trans. fluid, though it still may need to be changed. Upon some closer examining, the pto is working fine, no grinding and completly stops when the clutch is fully depressed(with no load) and slows quite a bit when the clutch is depressed about half way(I've heard this is normal operation for a live pto with no load). But I am still extremely concerned about the transmission and clutch. An example of what's happening is when going up a small hill(if on level ground, the tractor will not stop unless I use the brakes as well as the clutch...sometimes), I have to depress the clutch fully in order for the tractor to stop, while holding the clutch down, the tractor will begin to roll backwards briefly, then with little or no movement on the clutch pedal, the tractor "magically" begins to pull foward. Also whenever you first put the tractor in gear, you have to grind it till you think something really bad is going to happen. At times, I've had to take it out of high or low, then put it into whichever speed, then slowly grind back into H/L. Then after it has been put into gear, you can go from any gear to any gear without any trouble, smooth as silk, as long as you don't let off the clutch. After you let off of it, you back to square one. But keep in mind that sometimes, it shifts and stops just fine, as if nothing was wrong. I'm really stumped and could really use some advice. Am I in some serious trouble here or what? Thanks. Casey
