Maybe I should have worded it differently: Deere wrote the book on successful power shifts for larger ag tractors. Ford had their Select O speed only in smaller tractors and it was not very successful at that time. By the time Ford had improved it they had practically redesigned it and by then, the Deere power shift had been out a while.
