Here in Colorado, or used to be, you don't want to delay with a title recording that is stale. Like if you buy a car and the title is dated, it is something like 30 days or it has to be inspected, same as out of state. Dealers can wait. That is the reason that if I sell an old car, like I did last week, I leave the date open. Colorado used to need a notary on cars, sure glad they did away with that.
