Thanks Gerald, There is a plate on the bell housing, I will take it off to look for some marks. The engine is a low compression L-head from about 1948 or early 50's. The engine will not idle or run very well without the choke being on. I have had the the carb apart and cleaned several times. Blew the passages out and set the idle mixture screw at 1 1/2 turns out. Something is affecting the idle circuit for sure. There may be something lodged in one of the passages. It won't accelerate very well either. I think there is a combination of problems that need to be solved in order. I just don't know what that order is yet! Thanks again for all your help. Gives me a place to start with this project.
