I assume that you have no smoke that would indicate a rich mixture? Also, did the plugs look fouled? Don"t know if this is a B&S engine or a Kohler but my first suspicion would be a failed diaphram in the fuel pump that is allowing the crankcase vaccuum to pull fuel into the case. I would go over to the garden tractor chat area and post over there to see if others have the same issue. I bet you are not alone here. If you want to pull the pump apart it"s going to be pretty easy to do so. Post back if you find other issues as you go along.
