Smiley, Mine is the 4 screw type, and yes I adjusted everything. I don't know what happened, we had been using it on one side of the shed and then moved it to the other side, to get the transit out of the way which had us shooting the opposite direction. That's when the measurements got way off. We didn't think it was looking right. Using my transit, it showed my new Morton building was not level, I figured it probably was off. I gave up and borrowed my brothers transit and then when I checked the shed it seemed level, and my forms were all messed up. So we started all over from the beginning, it is looking a lot better. My transit is a Berger model 136. It is a contractors level, four thumbscrews,to adjust vial use allen wrench, there is also an a adjustment to move the scope up and down, I did not touch it. There are also a couple other adjusters I did not mess with. I did try to adjust the vial like you said, I still kept getting readings that did not match the shed. Since the borrowed transit matched the shed, I just used it. Thanks for the help everyone!
