No Contract, he has just been stopping in and dropping off a check and having me sign the form that he is farming the land for the program payments. He didnt even ask what I wanted per acre the 1st year here, just paid what he was paying the previous owner. I raised it to a more average rate for this past year, but as I said, if I can make even $200 NET PROFIT THAN RENTING IT OUT. i NEED TO DO IT. Whoops hit the caps butten. I'll check with the extension service and see what the law is and then as you stated talk to him and verify with letter. It is a touchy subject and I am sure he'll say I 'm not gonna make any money, but it seems alot of the guys saying there is no money in farming are the ones wanting to rent your land, there is a reason why. Failure is only an option of many.
