An old friend of mine who has been a mechanic for over 40 years has started wearing latex gloves for as much of the mechanical work he does as is possible. He says it is pretty much agreed upon in the industry now that all the oils, greases, solvents and other chemicals a mechanic comes in contact with daily do in fact make their way into your system and it is pretty much a fact that a lot of these can be very harmful down the road sometime. Yes, he does tear them and they aren't quite like doing things bare-handed, and he misses his fingernails as scrapers etc. but overall he says he gets by quite well. Anyone else have thoughts on this? I've tried it myself and it actually works reasonably well.
