The problem w/ the early 300 series engines, like the 329 in your 4030 was not with cavitation, it was a case of the liner cracking just below the top flange, due to a sharp corner at the bottom of the flange. This also affected the 3- & 4-cyl. engines that used the same liners, and was pretty common. I don't remember exactly when the change was made, but they went to a liner with a radius instead of a sharp corner. If your tractor is a '73, it may have been fixed already. I remember we did some under warranty.Ron.
