There was an article on the web a few months ago about cavitation, but I'm having trouble finding it. From what I remember the antifreeze electrolyzes. Many diesels do it, but some are worse than others. My neighbor has a 76 4030, (with the radius liners) that cavitated. He still has the pinholed sleeves. I know 3 other farmers who had/have 4030 tractors that had the same thing happen. I seem to remember in the article that if the water you put in the radiator has a high iron content (which ours does), the cavitation will be worse and happen sooner. Anyway, it's still a good idea to put coolant conditioner in the radiator.
