I have a 1946 Ford 2N with front mounted distributor. I use it reguarly for grass cutting and for snow removal in the winter. Last spring I bought the alternator kit and changed it over to 12 volts. Starts and runs great now. Even in the winter after sitting for a few weeks in single digit temperatures. I have read in this forum about the 12 volt coils going bad and sure enough I had to replace the coil at the end of summer. Does anyone have knowledge or experence with the electronic ignition kit that comes with the 12 volt can type coil? I"m trying to decide wheather to invest in this kit or make sure I always have a spare 12 volt coil on hand. Thanks in advance for any replies I may receive.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
