Doug, You can buy most standard implements much cheeper than you can make them. For example, I bought a carry all a couple of years ago at TSC for $49.00. It was on sale. Current price is $69.00. Even at todays price, you can not buy the steel for that. For your first project, I suggest you make or buy a three point hitch. This is the key to getting the most out of your tractor. Take a look at the hitches at http://www.worksaver.com. You will also need to add a hydraulic pump, tank and valve(s). This is all very doable. Once you have a hitch you can acquire other implements.
