Below is a better photograph. I was able to remove the hose lines and all of the mounting bolts. My confusion is the "shaft" that connects the water pump to the assembly to its right, which I am assuming is an oil pump. I was hessitant to remove the oil pump as I was not as familiar with them as water pumps.
There is a seam in the housing where the pump would split, but I am thinking the bearing shaft runs completly through the pump and it will have to be removed for disassembly. There are also what appears to be retainers on each end with a pin that runs vertially through the shaft. I am thinking these are to somehow set the timing.
I can provide more photographs or answer any other questions you have.
I am trying not to repeat old behaviors where I disassmble items and end up damaging them becasue of my haste.
