I know you guys know this but 1-2 and 3-4 are no clutch functions. Everything else is clutch assisted.
I have found with several Deere"s that they don"t like to be parked on a hill where pressure is against the gearing when trying to start up and leave. Same thing when trying to shift.
Possibly some of your problems are terrain related.
Also, sometimes when mine (gears) don"t want to engage, I don"t try to force it, I just go back to where I started, reclutch and make another run at it. The linkage to the cab station has a pretty long run too....kinda like we used to have with cars and column shifters vs floor mounts.
