I am trying to avoid all the paperwork hassles of the larger truck. We were using a truck and trailer that weighed 34ooo Lbs and it was scary going through ports of entry.. I have a one ton dually in decent shape, gas motor. Anyone have any thoughts on how long/heavy a fifth wheel flatbed trailer is practical? Would electric brakes be the best? Or are there other styles available like vacuum / hydraulic? I would like to try and get up in the same class as the Hot Shots that were popular a few years back, Seems you don't see them much anymore, Wonder why... Hauling tractors and an occasional antique truck. Thanks for the advice! ( One additional question.. do they make lowboys for one tons? Some of the trailers I've seen would get me too high for comfort at times.)
