My neighbor is running low on feed; gonna be at least a month until the pastures are ready and the guy just flat needs some hay.
I told him to hitch onto my sled (pictures), MAKE SURE THE TIRES ARE AIRED UP and take four stacks of my hay to help get him thru until grass time. No charge, just take it and keep your cows fed.
His place is 23 mies from mine and he has to travel right up the hi-way and cross that darned Pine Ridge.
Okay. He forgot to check the air in the tires and the bales are weighing 1300 lbs a pop.
How come it's always an inside tire that blows? How come the closest 14-ply tire is in Denver and won't be here until tomorrow? How come ya have to pull the pivot axle and the wheel bearings to access that silly tire anyway? Under that load of hay, no less? :>(
But, that isn't the problem.
Guy feels bad about all this and is trying to pay for that tire/tube.
It's probably gonna run a good 3 or 4 hundred, gonna take him at least a couple of hours to change it/repack the bearings and this flat tire just wasn't his fault.
Think I'd better get to town early in the morning and get it paid for before the frieght even comes in. He's being pretty darned bull-headed about this incident. :>(

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
