Oh, I didn't think about security thing. Well, I guess any ideas on traps and poison that won't harm pets is what you need. I hear ya on the letting things dry up bit. Wet sloppy mud is about the worst. I hauled in several heaping manure spreader loads of sawdust from a local sawmill and so far the calves have stayed pretty healthy laying on that. Tough getting it in to the cowyard though. I had to have my brother pull the tractor and spreader in with the Timberjack skidder to get up to the high ground where I wanted to spread it out. We do need moisture though, so I can't complain much.
