Have you thought of asking an uncle, or maybe you can locate one of your dad's old neighbors. I'd bet they can tell you. I can still remember every tractor that dad ever had (the years are foggy, but the model #'s aren't), and even some that a few of the neighbors had (when the neighbor boys and I got together, we used to argue over whose daddy had the biggest, best, toughest tractor:-) I guess I'm fortunate that my dad, 75, is still with us. He's like a walking history book of Dodge County. He can still drive by a farm place and tell you who lives there, when they bought it, who they bought it from, and who lived there before that!

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
